A Dozen More Turns Movie

Filed under: Life happenings — j Thompson @ 9:06 am
Well I wanted to let you all know about a movie that was finished up early
this winter and recently put out. Its about an avalanche in the SW Montana
(Montana/Idaho boarder, in the Centennial range) area a couple of years
ago. The premiere was held here in Bozeman earlier this winter, no one
knew how many folks would show up but about 500+ were there to view this
show.

The movie titled “A Dozen More Turns” by Amber Seyler, is being used as a
tremendous educational piece. The film has also been entered into many
film festivals around the world, I am not sure of the status of the
selection. Though a movie like this will, i am sure, get in. Amber is a
graduate student here at MSU in Bozeman and did a wonderful job with this
story.

This whole event was really surreal for me, in so many ways. It was my
first run, I had met up with this group for the last day of their 3 days,
almost bagging the trip at the last minute. I remember sitting in the
venue watching this film, impressed by Sam and his composure (there was a
Q/A sess after the flick with Sam, Amber, and Doug).
Thanks Jason

Recently I ran into this well done short clip from a guy named Ollie. It’s a pretty fun little piece to watch. It reminded me of a good balance in life. Being busy is good, remembering to be still is needed.

I have mentioned Todd Henry and his Accidental Creative site before. This clip reminded me of one of his past podcasts, where he speaks about 5 components to a creative lifestyle.

TIME, ENERGY, FOCUS, STIMULUS, and RELATIONSHIPS

As I watched this short clip questions, that Todd asked about some of these words rang through my head, and i pondered of how it relates to my creativity and sometimes lack of it.

How often do i remind myself what my stimulus is?

Do i make time to fill the creative tank?

Who do i surround myself with?
