My good friend Tyler Jones arrived in Bozeman the other night. His timing was perfect. We woke up to 18 inches on the ground and continued snow fall throughout the day.

The best part of the day

big sky

Its that magic time. The time of the day that I like to be out. You can watch nature, the snow changes from flat to a vibrant array of colors, the sky morphs into the deepest blue. The snow has come alive, the light adds the contrast to view the beauty. It is a good time to be in the mountains.

This was a show of Michael Franti and Spearhead recently down in Salt Lake City. The show was put on by Avalaunch. An Organization that will be heard about more and more. Their goal is to promote avalanche education, and environmental stewardship through live music, film and snow. They are starting a movement involving lots of topics that all come back full circle.

The relationship between Spearhead and Avalaunch seemed to be a perfect match for the opening of the movement.

If Lebron James were an IPO…

Jay-Z is doing it in the music industry. Matt Sterbenz is doing it in the Ski industry.
Lebron James is doing it in the professional sports industry (NBA).
What are they doing? They are re-creating the traditional business structures of their industries.
Icons in the top tier of their disciplines are out to create and re-create the business side of their industries.
In some cases trying to cut out the middle man, to create an exact culture. Helping to dictate where their industries will head in the future.
The sense of culture created around a business seems to dictate a businesses success, these days. These guys want to make sure their culture, and smarts are being articulated well.
